I’ve always valued the truth and personal conviction over popularity. After all, staying silent to avoid offending someone with a different opinion is partly what’s led us this far down the wrong road.
While I believe that everyone must answer to his or her own conscience and do what they believe is right before God, I’m aghast by those who have stated they refuse to vote in today’s midterm election.
I’ve seen some say they are “proud” they aren’t voting. What are you proud of? Willingly laying down your Constitutional rights without the first shot being fired? Standing by and talking about doing nothing instead of doing all you can to fight?
How do you justify supporting President Trump, yet doing the opposite of the very thing he has asked us to do for the last two years, and more specifically just spent the last several nights saying was so important? Regardless of what’s going on behind the scenes, President Trump has said our vote is more important than ever. Cognitive dissonance is not just a phrase for those on the left, I’m afraid.
Do you think everyone who's telling you to vote is trying to deceive you?
Was the 2020 election stolen? Absolutely! Have they been rigging elections for decades? Yes! Are they going to try and steal this election today? You betcha. However, doing what’s right has never been dependent on what someone else does...it’s about doing what’s right regardless of what others do. Both of my grandfathers fought for my right to vote, and I’m not going to forfeit that right because “it won’t matter anyway.”
2020 was rigged and stolen, and we all know it. Believe it or not, it’s possible to simultaneously work on fixing things right now and at the same time working to fix 2020. The two aren’t mutually exclusive as some think. In a multifaceted war, those who only focus on one facet of the battle usually lose the war.
Those who aren’t voting, what’s the alternative? Don’t vote and allow the very same demons who stole 2020 illegitimately to win the midterms legitimately? Does that honestly seem like a valid solution? If we don’t vote and the enemy wins legitimately, then what’s next?
I’ve seen all the excuses and the arguments as to why some aren’t voting, and I disagree. It’s doing more harm than good.
If President Trump or the Military does something in the next few days/weeks, than none of us will be disappointed. We all want to see something happen, but throwing away 2022 because you’re upset about 2020 isn’t the answer.
If I’m wrong, then I wasted an afternoon standing in line to exercise my Constitutional right. If you’re wrong, than you gave up your Constitutional rights.
I, like everyone else, must share what I believe to be the truth; approval was not my intention. My words are typed in a spirit of love. We can disagree peacefully, but I urge you to reconsider your stance.
It’s not too late.
Your vote matters.
