Do You Want to Make a Difference?
Do you long to make a difference? Oftentimes as we think about how we can make a difference, we focus on possible huge tasks and end up missing the small opportunities. As Thomas Edison is attributed with saying, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
Each new day brings us opportunities disguised as obstacles, chances disguised as challenges, and possibilities disguised as problems.
It’s seldom easy. The storms of this life often cause us to focus more on the problem than the solution, but when it comes to opportunities in this life, how we VIEW the challenge will determine how we go THROUGH the challenge.
If we view the storms around us as if everything is dependent on our own strength, then discouragement is inevitable, but if we stay focused on the truth that God has already won and bought us the victory, then nothing can bring us down.
Don't neglect the small opportunites to make a difference today. I pray that as we face both joy and struggles in this life, we can stay focused on the truth and continue to “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (see Philippians 3:14).
