I Don't Like The Darkness. I Like The Light.
This evening I was walking outside with my youngest son. The sun had just set and we were walking back to the house together.
He looked up at me as he grabbed my hand and said, "Daddy, I don't like the dark. I like the light."
I said, "Me too, buddy," and I started thinking about all the darkness in our world today.
The enemy sure does love the darkness.
In John 3, Jesus said, "...light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved" (vs. 19-20).
Those who practice evil love the darkness because, in the cover of darkness, their evil can be hidden from view.
But Jesus said that we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Our purpose on this earth is to shine the light of Christ in the darkness and let others see His light.
Darkness cannot exist where the light shines. Light dispels the darkness.
Keep shining the light of truth in the darkness that surrounds us. The enemy, like cockroaches when a light is turned on, will flee when the truth is shed on their deeds.
