It Is FINISHED
As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, I’m reminded once again of the incredible sacrifice God made so we could have a relationship with Him.
This evening I’m pondering a few of the last words Jesus said as He hung on the cross: “It is finished."
This short phrase carries with it the greatest news humanity has ever heard.
When He said it was finished, He wasn’t talking about the physical condition of His body, but about the spiritual victory that was won on that cruel Roman cross.
It was finished; the payment for sin was paid in full.
And three days later, Jesus rose from the grave. Death, hell, and the grave was defeated once and for all; the blood Jesus shed for us bridged the gap between sinful man and a perfect, holy God.
My friends, take hope in the fact it is still finished today.
The enemy has no power or authority over us. The blood Jesus shed on the cross is still all that's needed to have a relationship with God. The victory has never been in jeopardy; we have already won the victory through Christ.
The resurrection of Christ changed everything and it's still changing hearts and lives today!
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
