It's Dark...but Sunday is Coming!
It was dark the day Jesus hung on the cross. The battle against the enemy was raging, and Satan thought he had the upper hand.
The crowd watched as the King of Kings was crucified between two thieves. As He hung there, gasping for breath, He had no sin in Himself yet took humanity’s sin on Himself.
The disciples had gotten discouraged and scattered. At the time, evil seemed to be winning.
But the end had already been decided, and God had already won. It was dark at the moment, but Sunday was coming.
Fast forward a couple thousand years to today.
It’s dark when we face storms in this life today. The battle against the enemy is still raging, and Satan thinks he has the upper hand.
The storms of this life can be difficult, but we cling to Jesus who shed His blood so that “whosover shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
It’s easy to get discouraged today. At times, evil seems to be winning.
But the end has already been decided, and God has already won. It may be dark now, but keep the faith...Sunday is coming!
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:55-57
