Trust God As We Travel Home
Someday, we will have all of eternity together to share stories of how God lead us through the darkness.
Recently, my family was able to go visit some friends for dinner at their home. The last few months have been very busy, and it was nice to have an evening to catch up and enjoy some food and fellowship.
By the time we left to head home, it was already dark outside. After a few minutes of driving in silence, one of my little boys said, "Daddy, are we on our way home?"
"Yes, we are," I replied.
"How do we get home from here?" he inquired further.
After doing my best to explain our route, his young mind understood a simple, yet profound, truth.
He said, "Daddy, if we just keep going this direction, you'll get us home." And with that, he laid his head back against the seat to rest.
He trusted me to get him home. He knew I knew the way, and while the exact route might have confused him, he left it in my hands to get him home safely.
As we continued to drive, I realized how much that interaction was like our relationship with God. Do we trust Him to get us home safely?
We're all in the process of traveling home. The times are certainly dark. While the path we're on can often be difficult and confusing, we can trust our Heavenly Father to get us home safely.
He knows the way. In fact, His son Jesus IS the way (see John 14:6). If we agree to follow Him, we have the assurance that we WILL get through it all.
Let Him lead us on the journey home. Lay your cares on Him and rest. Trust Him...He knows what He's doing.
Someday, we will have all of eternity together to share stories of how God lead us through the darkness. Praise the Lord!
Thank you for this reminder to trust the Lord to lead us, especially during these extreme days of chaos and confusion. Thank you God for Your continued guidance.
Thanks Tippy Top for sharing!! God Bless you and your Beautiful Family 🙏🙌❤️🫶
