What About the Tough Times?
There are countless places in Scripture where people found themselves in some pretty difficult situations.
- Noah experienced the boat begin to sway as the flood waters rose.
- Moses anticipated the impending army behind him as he looked across the Red Sea.
- Joseph experienced the betrayal of his brothers as they sold him into slavery.
- David gripped a handful of hard stones as he saw a giant loom before him.
- Gideon clenched his trumpet as their small army marched toward the Midianites.
- Elijah felt the heat of the fire as it fell while he stood against the prophets of Baal.
What do all these stories have in common? It was during these struggles that God was working in mighty ways.
We find ourselves in some pretty difficult situations today, but God is still working; even in our moments of pain, hurts, stress, and struggles He is there. It’s when we reach the end our human strength that God receives all the glory for what happens next.
Whatever you’re facing, know that God is still working all things together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose (see Romans 8:28).
