You're Never Too Far to Come Home
In Genesis 13, Lot made a decision to live NEAR Sodom (vs. 11-12).
By Genesis 14, Lot was living IN Sodom (v. 12).
By Genesis 19, Lot was a respected resident of Sodom, as evidenced by his seat at the gate where elders and leaders of a town would often gather. (v. 1).
Sin in our lives, like Lot’s, usually isn’t spontaneous; it typically begins with small compromises, compounded over time, that take us farther than we meant to go.
Take hope: No matter how far away you find yourself away from God this afternoon, you’re never too far to come back home.
But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.
